Laboratory
We provide the following screening and testing services to our beneficiaries and their providers:
- Clinical Chemistry
- Hematology
- Coagulation
- Microbiology
- Urinalysis
- Serology
*Tests not performed on-site are shipped to external military and/or civilian reference laboratories
**All tests must be ordered by an authorized or privileged health care provider.
If your provider tells you to report to the laboratory for fasting blood work, please refrain from eating or drinking anything for at least 12 hours before the blood collection. You can drink water during this time. Fasting blood work does not inhibit routine prescription medication use. Please contact your health care provider for further guidance.
A written script must be faxed to our lab or hand carried by patients for outside provider lab orders.
A laboratory technician should always ask you for your full name and date of birth before collecting any specimen from you. In most cases, a parent or legal guardian must give verbal consent for specimen collections on patients who are less than 18 years old.
The laboratory does not release test results directly to patients. Please contact the Medical Records section, your health care provider or use TRICARE Online to obtain your results.
Result turn-around time varies depending on the test ordered.
- In-house tests: Completed the same day (for most tests)
- Tests sent to reference laboratories: Completed within 7-10 business days (for most tests)
